Ferrosilicon is iron alloy composed of iron and silicon.
Ferrosilicon is silicon iron alloys that made of coke, steel scrap, quartz (or silica) by iron smelting furnace.
Uses
1. Silicon and oxygen is easy to combine in silica, so it is often used in steelmaking as deoxidizer.
2. Meanwhile, when generating SiO2 , lots of heat is given off. So it is helpful to raising the liquid steel temperature when deoxidizing.
